Jane Eyre District show wins multiple awards and advances to Bi-District

The Timber Creek cast of Jane Eyre performed in the District One Act Play competition on Thursday, March 10th, and advanced along with Fossil Ridge and Central to the Bi-District competition which will be held at Timber Creek on Thursday, March 24th.

Along with earning their place at Bi-District, several cast members received individual awards:

Emma Norton received the Best Performer award for her portrayal of Jane Eyre.

Ethan Hyatt received the All-Star Cast award for his portrayal of Rochester.

Miranda Hall received the Outstanding Technician award.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Jane Eyre for such a wonderful performance. Break-a-leg at Bi-District! Hopefully everyone can plan to see the show which is targeted to begin at 1215p on Thursday (times are only estimates).

Scholarship Opportunity – One-Act Play participants would qualify!

H-E-B Scholarship for UIL Participants
H-E-B is a Corporate Sponsor of the UIL and has its annual H-E-B Scholarship Program for Community Service Excellence opportunity.   Nominees must have the following submitted to https://www.sportsinaction.com/scholarship/ by no later than January 28, 2022:

  • Minimum 3.3 GPA
  • Number of Community Service Hours completed in the last 12 months
  • Community Service Verification Letters to document the number of hours submitted
  • A Letter of Recommendation
  • A Short Essay (500 words or less) on the topic: “What does Community mean to you?”

There will be 15 total winners – 5 each in music, academics and athletics – and each will be awarded $2,000 from H-E-B. An announcement of the winners will be at the UIL Boys Basketball State Championships.
