UIL State Competition
One-Act Play 2015

The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter has it all, love, death, religion, sex, race, money and friendship and is the story of people who are lonely and searching for who they are.  John Singer and Spiros Antonapoulous are very close friends who are both deaf-mutes.  After Singer loses the day-to-day contact with Antonopoulous, his life becomes filled with the struggles of four acquaintances who all pull at Singer: Mick Kelly, a tomboyish girl who loves music and dreams of buying a piano; Jake Blount, an alcoholic laborer and agitator; Biff Brannon, the observant owner of a diner; and Dr. Copeland, an idealistic physician.
